Inner System Blues v1.1
2400 » Devlog
This Inner System Blues update corrected some errors and made a few small (but consequential enough to be worth an update) adjustments.
- Defense more clearly specifies that you can break any item, including cyber-limbs, to block a hit, and rather than try to explain this in terms of dice results, just says it turns whatever the hit would've been into a "brief hindrance."
- Basically, if you were going to get killed or lose a limb, you instead get knocked down or the like. You might still be hindered awhile if you have to keep using whatever you broke, though (like dragging around a nonfunctional cyber-leg).
- Armor isn't necessarily any "better" than other gear at defense, but it's a lot easier to justify in your description, and losing use of it isn't as big a pain as losing use of your gun or deck or whatever. That said....
- Armor is now listed like any other item with upgrade options, including "active camouflage." I think I stuck that on cyber-skin too while I was at it, because why not. Feel free to run around naked and invisible, I guess.
- Androids were completely rewritten when I realized that being 100% cyber-limbed means you effectively start with 4 credits worth of upgrade-ready gear you can plausibly break for defense. Now they are explicitly recognized as getting that, plus a couple free upgrades. I'd recommend a skill boost to represent their original function, but I was running out of space and I figure leaving it up to you wouldn't hurt.
- Specialty details saw a few tweaks, like giving more gear or gear options here and there.
- Jobs replaced one redundant entry (trying to get an AI to defect, when there was already another defection job that could well be for an AI) with a new entry (stealing live, genetically-altered specimens).
- Typos and alphabetization errors are now fixed (I think).
I also uploaded a third version this time by request, so you can get it as singles in color, spreads in color, or spreads in black and white.
Thanks to you all for all the kind words since release! I'm looking forward to uploading some more games to this page soon so those of you who already paid get to feel like you got a sweet discount.

Jason,
I'm trying to find your older devlog entries for 2400, but I can't seem to navigate to them.
Can you provide any help please? I especially want to find the original post for Inner System Blues.
Okay, I'm good now, I found this https://pretendo.games/2022/04/06/2400-devlog-inner-system-blues/
Great, glad that works! If there were ever any earlier ones on Itch than this one, I don’t see them either.
