Operation: Underhill preview
“Operation: Underhill” is an introductory scenario from the revised edition of Agents of the O.D.D. The full revised edition is still a work in progress, but in the meantime, I hope you’ll enjoy this preview, linked free under the "Demo" section of the Agents of the O.D.D. Itch.io page..
It has taken me much longer to finish revisions to Agents than I anticipated. (Pandemics, parenthood, and chronic health issues are tricky like that, I suppose.) But just as the Cryptid Jam inspired me to finish the original Agents around Halloween, this year, the Apocalypse Keys Jam inspired me to at least finish writing this one scenario.
I expect to revisit this scenario for edits and art, but it is full and playable, and also should work well with other old-school paranormal investigation and horror RPGs, like Liminal Horror and its expansion The Bureau, which are built on the broadly compatible Cairn rules. And, of course, if you enjoy playing games about paranormal beings investigating the paranormal — and (possibly) avert the end of the world — you may be able to mine bits from this scenario for Apocalypse Keys.
If you manage to get this to the table, please feel free to get in touch and let me know how it goes! After all, the revised edition is still under revision.
