I really like the look of the character preview; it feels like a cool mix of Cyberpunk and space opera. Have to ask, will this be finished, or is it kind of a lost cause?
I sure hope it’ll be finished — I just commissioned the cover, and am trying to buy more art for it! Been slowed down terribly by health issues, though.
(Edit: Okay, commissioning a cover 7ish months ago might not sound like “just commissioned a cover,” but I’ve been on medical leave much of the time in between, so it feels like “just” to me.) 😅
Thanks for checking in! Still working on this, but I’ve been badly slowed down by medical issues for a while. I’ll update when things are closer to completion, though!
To be honest, I don’t really schedule much at all for RPG releases, since this is my hobby and I’m a parent with a day job. 😅 That said, the full version is pretty far along — I just have some more writing to do on the GM-facing tools, and I’ve reached out to an artist to commission a cover!
QZ is a different game, though there is some overlap in influences for sure! This one’s more far-future science fantasy (think Book of the New Sun, Dying Earth, Numenera), and QZ is weirdness in a contemporary world (think Annihilation, Roadside Picnic).
I downloaded the Character Creation Preview and am excited to see the missing parts get filled out. Into the Odd mashed up with Numenera really floats my boat.
Thanks! I got a little carried away after that preview chapter, and had to step away for a bit to return with fresh eyes. Looking forward to getting back to it very soon!
I really adore the "adjective noun who verbs" style of character creation, so I'm very excited to see another system using a similar format. I look forward to seeing where this ends up!
Seems like this is based on The Lost Puzzler, but there’s no mention of it? I just started reading (actually listening) to the book and immediately thought it should be turned into a rpg.
I’ve never heard of it, but it’s possible this influenced the sources that influenced me! My biggest influence was Numenera, which in turn appears to have been influenced largely by the books of Jack Vance and Gene Wolfe.

Looks incredible so far! I've actually been trying to hack up the Character Preview and Knave for a sci-fi one-shot.
Saw the last comment was a year ago so thought I'd check in on any updates?

Sorry to hear about your medical issues. Hope everything turns out well.
Do you schedule a release of the complete version?

Did the game get renamed? i think this used to be called QZ?

Awesome either way. :D Looking forward for more!
Definitely getting this right now, and I will get it again when it's complete.
Thanks! Currently splitting time between writing this one and playtesting/editing Agents of the O.D.D.
Okay. I'm interested.
Thanks! Looking forward to getting the full version out there!
Will do
